I hope that everyone is doing ok with their health as we endure this period of lockdown. It’s certainly a season to forget when it comes to motorsport with large question marks over what remains of this season across a number of codes.
New historic designs
With the sad news last month that Stirling Moss had passed, it reminded me also of another recently departed British racing legend in John Surtees. He is the only world racing champion on two wheels as well as four wheels. He also created his own team in F1 with a distinctive car livery, which I’ve recreated here.
I have also created two new designs with Le Mans and Group C heritage. The first is a design for the Jaguar XJR-14 which dominated its class in 1991. It also became a Mazda and a Porsche – more of that story is on the website.
The other design is for the Lola T70 MkIIIb, a car many believe to be the best designed race car ever. This shirt is available in a number of different fashion colours.
New Graphic Designs
I have overcome my past resistance to creating graphic designs with cars in them, having instead focused on making the shirt the representation of the car. But with covid comes the chance to take a fresh look, so I started with overhauling three past designs featuring famous drivers.
That means I’ve rolled out a new design for Michael Schumacher in green, red or black colours, Damon Hill and the Lauda-Senna-Prost combination while at McLaren.
Antipodean customers aren’t forgotten about, with three overhauled designs for the 1977 1-2 finish with Ford, Holden’s revenge in 1984 and the 1971-72 ‘nearly famous’ wild violet XY Falcon.
Thanks again for your custom and I hope that you get to go out driving soon.
