This design is inspired by the innovative Chaparral Cars company based out of Midland Texas.
Chaparral and owner/driver Jim Hall became famous for their race philosophy: high downforce connected directly to the suspension. Their use of spoilers and wings and the introduction of the 2J 'sucker' car in 1966 were years ahead of similar innovations in Formula One.
Hall as an engineer developed a strong partnership with Chevrolet for reliable power and Firestone for strong grip - key elements of a high downforce race car.
Chaparral cars won at Sebring and the Nurburgring, but was unable to finish at Le Mans. Car 2E was a crowd favourite and Hall continued with a lightweight approach, fielding the 5.3l engine against Can Am fields consisting of 6 & 7 litre cars.
In 1979 Chaparral moved their attention to the IndyCar series where they won the title in 1980.

Each polo shirt comes with welt-knit collars to resist unwanted curling while the classic three-button placket features pearlized buttons held together by durable cross-stitching and offers a timeless touch that is reinforced at the bottom with a box-stitch.
