Bleu De France is derived from the historical azure used as the background to the fleur de lis. This colour was allocated to France in 1900 for use international motorsport competition. Many famous names have been painted in this colour, such as Alpine, Bugatti, Gordini, Ligier, Matra, Panhard, Peugeot and Talbot. Sadly many of these names are now history today.
