The Pininfarina designed Cuneo concept was a marked departure from earlier concept cars, with no doors and no roof, and was revealed at the 1971 Brussels Motor Show. While referencing the 1950's Alfa Romeo BAT cars with pronounced edges, this concept became the leading example of the 'wedge' design, which is the definition of the Cuneo word in Italian.

Interestingly this was the second concept to appear on this single Stradale chassis - the body of the 1968 Roadster concept was removed from the chassis and this new Cuneo concept took it's place.

Pininfarina have created many designs for Alfa Romeo that made production, notably the long running Spider, 33 and the latest series of GTV.
