Alan Jones and Allan Grice finished second in the 1995 Bathurst 1000. Their sister car driven by Glen Seton was leading but suffered an engine failure on lap 152, just nine laps short of the finish. This ended an emotional chance for Seton to win at Bathurst exactly 30 years from when his father won. This was an unusual race in that winner Larry Perkins had a 'last to first' drive after crashing on the first lap.

Alan Jones was the first Formula 1 driver to win a championship for the Williams team and won the world championship in 1980, becoming the second Australian to do so, after Jack Brabham.

He won the last Australian Grand Prix, driving his F1 Williams against a field of mainly F5000 cars however he never managed to win at Bathurst.

Allan Grice has won at Bathurst twice, both times driving a Holden Commodore.
