This design is inspired by the first Ford GT40 win at Le Mans, driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon in 1966.
Ford developed the GT40 with a vision to beat Ferrari in long distance races. What grew Henry Ford II’s interest came out of a failed takeover of Ferrari, with Enzo withdrawing from talks after many costs had been incurred, allegedly over his leadership of the racing division and being prevented from entering cars at the Indy 500.
The 40 is drawn from its height: it measures 40 inches from the ground to the top of its windshield. Sounds much better than its metric version.

This story has just been released in a film Ford versus Ferrari
